When Our Water Started To Taste Bad..

For years, our water had tasted wonderful. We are in the Midwest of the United States and our water came from an aquifer.
It tasted wonderful and never smelled. Then we received a notice in the mail that the water was showing high levels of contaminents and that they needed to bleach the system. We wondered how it would affect our water and then we found out how it did.
It smelled horrible, like a clothes washing machine and it had a nasty aftertaste. We couldn't even use it to make ice cubes as any drink the ice cubes were put into ended up having the same funny aftertaste.
People in our neighborhood complained about it, and we were left to wonder how we could deal with it. The water was fine for washing, bathing, and watering the plants so what could we do to take care of our drinking and cooking water? Bottled water was expensive and a whole house filtration system was an not only not needed but also very expensive.
So we settled on a countertop filtration system. The filters can get a little pricey, but it is definitely worth it. Our water tastes great again and there is little on no smell left.
It worked out perfect for our house and I would highly recommend it to anyone else looking for a relatively economical alternative to bottled water or whole house filtration system.
