Love Brita
My father was born and raised in a small town called Bogalusa, Louisiana in the 1960's our family was torn apart by cancer, my grandmother died at the age of 32 with brain cancer, when my dad was only 9 years old.
My uncle died at the young age of 11 to cancer and 2 of my fathers uncles also died from brain cancer.
Later my Grandfather also passed away from this same mysterious form of brain cancer. Come to find out more than 45 members of our extended family have been diagnosed with some type of aggressive cancer.
Some even later in life have had children with strange diseases, with no explanation. The town of Bogalusa today is a wonderful place but back in the 50's and 60's the was a large Chemical plant most of the townspeople worked for, there was a rather large lawsuit my family was involved in, very much like the movie Erin Brockovich, however this was real life, this was my family!
We grew up with my father very protective of the water we drank, due to the damages he had seen that contaminated water can due.
We were never allowed to drink from a faucet and in those days filters and bottled water were NOT available like they are now, we boiled water and purified it ourselves before we were allowed to drink it. I grew up with an innate respect for the purity of water.
I have a Brita Water Machine at work and a Brita Faucet Purifier and one for my refrigerator also.
I use the Brita Machines really only because of the large amount of products that they offer and so many different options.
Thank you Brita for giving my children pure water, free from the fears of my past!
