Avoid the $5000 Water Filter System You Don’t Need

Selecting the best treatment system for your contaminated water without falling for a scam to buy a $5000 filter your house doesn’t need

It’s very easy to buy an expensive $5000 water filter system your household does not need. Many people have been scammed into paying that much for filters when their water is as healthy as the bottled water on the market.  How can you end up spending money on a home water filtration system you house does not need?
    • You may think your water is unhealthy to drink but did you find out exactly what contaminants taste, smell, or look bad?  Without this knowledge, you walked into a store, or shopped online to buy this expensive whole house filter that hasn’t made any improvement in the quality of your drinking water.  You needed a filter to remove taste and odor problem in your water but you spent money on a filter for sediment only.

    • You fell for a local water salesperson that convinced you to buy his overpriced filter you don’t need.  You fell for a scam artist who showed up your door claiming to a “water authority representative” with grim news that your water has been contaminated by a spill nearby and you need to filter your water. So, he recommends that you buy a filter from a certain person he knows which could turn out to be his partner in scam.

    • You bought a water filter that is designed to remove a single contaminant when your water is contaminated with more than one chemical. You can find one filter that can effectively remove sediment, taste and odor due to chlorine all at once.
    • You bought a whole house water filter when your water problem can be resolved by simple countertop or undersink filtration that cost much less.

The way to avoid spending money on an expensive $5000 water filter system you don’t need is by finding out exactly what contaminates your water. Water testing kits are available for homes or you may hire a water testing lab. Kits for a variety of water tests are available on Amazon at very reasonable prices ranging from less than $10 to over $100 depending on what tests you need to do.

Next, carefully research the best NSF-certified water filter. Before you listen to the water filter scammers, compare their price, certification, frequency of replacement filter, contaminant removal efficiency, and customer reviews with others on the market.  You don’t have to spend $5000 or more for a home filtration system. For every filter system at that price, there are dozen others at lower prices that can perform as good or as better than the expensive filters.
